Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Discovery Companion.

Effective: 2026-08-02

1. The agreement

These terms form an agreement between you and Vladimiros Tsamouridis, an individual trader established in Greece, at A. Papakonstantinou 16, 19002, Greece(“we”, “us”), who operates Discovery Companion. We are not an incorporated company. By creating an account, or by continuing to use the product, you accept these terms.

2. What the service is

Discovery Companion is a local-first workspace for structured customer discovery. The application is delivered over the web; the data you create is stored in your browser on your device. We provide the software, not storage or backup of your content.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. The product is built for professional use — solution consultants, presales engineers and independent consultants working on customer discovery — and you may use it whether you work for an organisation or for yourself. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are for a single named person and must not be shared.

5. Product stage

Discovery Companion is an early-access product: it may change, and features may be added, altered or withdrawn as it develops. Creating an account does not by itself create a paid subscription. Subscriptions are available for purchase; no payment is taken until you subscribe.

6. Paid subscriptions

A Discovery Companion subscription is €24 per month or €240 per year, covering one named person and every feature. Taxes may apply depending on your location and tax status. Prices may change with reasonable notice, and a change will not affect a period you have already paid for.

Paddle.com is our appointed online reseller and Merchant of Record for paid Discovery Companion orders, and is responsible for the order-related billing, customer service enquiries and returns that arise from those orders. A purchase is therefore also subject to its Buyer Terms alongside these terms, and those terms are presented at checkout before any payment is taken.

Paid subscriptions are available, and orders are placed through the Paddle.com checkout.

6a. Free trial

An eligible first-time account may start a free trial of 14 days on either plan. A valid payment method is required to start a trial. Nothing is charged during the trial; at the end of it the plan price is charged automatically and renewal then continues on the chosen cadence, unless you cancel before the trial ends.

The trial is available once per account, not once per plan. Changing between monthly and annual billing does not create a further trial, and a subscription started after the trial has been used begins immediately and is charged at once.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel at any time from Settings → Billing; access continues to the end of the paid period shown there. Cancelling during a trial before its first charge prevents that charge. If a renewal payment fails, access may continue while your payment provider retries, and Settings → Billing will ask you to update your payment details. See Refunds & Cancellation.

8. Your content and your responsibility

You own everything you create in the product. Because it is stored on your device, you are responsible for keeping backups, for the security of the device, and for the lawfulness of the customer information you record — including any confidentiality obligations you owe your own customers and employer.

We cannot recover a workspace that is lost because a device failed, browser data was cleared, or a profile was deleted.

9. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to breach or probe the service’s security, resell or sublicense access, reverse engineer the software except where the law permits, or use the product to store unlawful material.

10. Intellectual property

The software, brand, methodology content and documentation are ours or our licensors’. Your subscription grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the product while it is active. Documents you generate for your own customers are yours to use.

11. Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Discovery Companion uses cloud services for your account and authentication, and sign-in requires connectivity. Your customer workspace is stored locally on your device.

12. Disclaimers and liability

The product is provided “as is”. It supports professional judgement; it does not replace it, and the documents it produces are drafts you are responsible for reviewing. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid in that period, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

13. Termination and account deletion

You may request permanent deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing privacy@discoverycompanion.app from the address you sign in with; Settings → Account provides the same request. If you have a subscription, cancel it first in Settings → Billing — a deletion request does not cancel billing. We may suspend or terminate an account for a material breach of these terms, giving notice where reasonable.

Deleting your account removes your account record and its authentication data. It does not delete the workspace stored on your device — that is a separate, explicitly chosen action in the product, so that ending your account never destroys your customer work by surprise.

14. Your consumer rights

If you use Discovery Companion as a consumer, nothing in these terms removes or limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law — including rights of withdrawal or cancellation, remedies where a digital service is not as described, and any right that cannot lawfully be excluded. Those rights apply in addition to these terms and take precedence wherever they conflict.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product and its commercial arrangements change. The effective date is shown at the top of this page, and we will give reasonable notice of any material change. Continuing to use the product after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Greece, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer rights, or the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, where the law of that country gives you those protections.
