Refunds & Cancellation

How cancellation works, and how refunds are handled.

Effective: 2026-08-02

1. Availability

Paid subscriptions are available, and orders are placed through the Paddle.com checkout. Signing up does not create a subscription and takes no payment, so while purchasing is closed there is no transaction to refund. This page sets out how cancellation and refunds work for a Discovery Companion subscription, and applies to every payment made under one.

2. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term.

3. Access after cancellation

Access continues until the end of the subscription period you have already paid for. After that the subscription ends and paid access stops. Your workspace stays on your device and can still be exported with Workspace Backup — ending a subscription does not delete your local data.

4. Refund eligibility and requests

Cancelling stops future billing. A refund returns money already paid — the two are separate, and cancelling does not by itself produce a refund.

You may request a refund through Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Under Paddle’s applicable Refund Policy, a discretionary refund request may be submitted within 14 days of the transaction. Submitting a request within that period does not guarantee that it will be approved; it is assessed at Paddle’s discretion.

Separately, a refund remains available wherever applicable law or mandatory consumer rights require one — including billing errors, duplicate charges, and cases where the service is not as described.

To request a refund, contact Paddle Buyer Support at paddle.net with your order details. You can also contact us and we will investigate.

5. Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy removes or limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law, including any statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation and any legal remedy where a digital service is not as described. Those rights apply in addition to this policy and take precedence over it where they conflict.

Where applicable, withdrawal and cancellation rights available to consumers under applicable law will be honoured. The checkout process will explain how those rights apply before a purchase is completed.

6. Merchant of Record

Paddle.com is our appointed online reseller and Merchant of Record for paid Discovery Companion orders, and is responsible for the order-related billing, customer service enquiries and returns that arise from those orders. A purchase is subject to its Buyer Terms and Refund Policy, which govern how that transaction and any refund are handled, in addition to your statutory rights. Those terms are presented at checkout before any payment is taken. Paid subscriptions are available, and orders are placed through the Paddle.com checkout.

7. How to ask

Contact support@discoverycompanion.app with your account email and the charge in question. The operator, governing law and full contractual terms are set out in our Terms of Service.
